Applying Relational Skills on EI in Practice
EADV is honoured to collaborate with Goleman EI for a webinar series on “Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Healthcare”.

The focus of our next webinar is on building the Relationship Skills of Emotional Intelligence vis a vis specific practices that help us develop the capacity for empathy, compassion, deep listening, relating to patients, others we are close to, and ourselves. Specifically, we’ll explore techniques to increase our ability to notice, listen, and share.

Agenda (60 minutes)

In this session we will explore practices and micro-techniques to develop the Relationship Skills of Emotional Intelligence. Specifically, we will explore how to:
- Cultivate empathy and compassion for others
- Create a culture of empathy and compassion
- Bring awareness of your listening style
- Create a culture of intentional listening

Michele Nevarez, MSPOD

This driving force for Michele is at the core of how our programs translate EI from theory to a powerful and practical vehicle for meaningful transformation and lasting habit change. Michele brings 25+ years of executive leadership experience working for industry leaders in healthcare, investment management, management consulting, and manufacturing. A founding member of Rangjung Yeshe Institute based in Kathmandu, Nepal, Michele has practiced mindfulness-based training for 27+ years. Michele received a B.A. in Religion from Bryn Mawr College and a Master of Science degree in Positive Organizational Development and Change from the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University.
Belinda Chiu, Ed.D.
Faculty and VP Content/Educational Programs @Goleman EI
Belinda is a coach, educator, and trainer with a background in higher education , public diplomacy, and management consulting. Author of The Mindful College Applicant, she serves as coach, facilitator, content writer, and faculty with organizations such as Goleman EI, Ignition Coaching LLC, Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, Thrive Global, and the Tuck School Business. She continues to work with healthcare and pharmaceutical companies around the world and cultivate mindful resilience and emotional intelligence into leadership and organizational cultures. Belinda holds a bachelors from Dartmouth College, masters from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, and a doctorate from Columbia University. A member of Valley Improv, she leverages the art of improv to cultivate emotional intelligence – and find moments of joy.
Sarah Kivel
Director of Client Strategies @Goleman EI
Sarah is a Peak Performance Executive Coach. She works with CEOs, entrepreneurs, and leaders in healthcare on emotional intelligence coaching and focus training. At Goleman EI, she is the Director of Client Strategies and also a Meta Coach. Sarah is the founder of the non-profit organization, eiFocus™. As a lifelong athlete, she has learned that mental and emotional strength separate peak performers from the rest and has made it her mission to empower women and girls in sports with emotional intelligence. Sarah received both her Bachelor of Arts degree and her Coaching Certification from the University of California, Davis. She is also certified by the International Coach Federation and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Prior to coaching, Sarah worked with leadership in the outdoor equipment, apparel, fitness, and manufacturing industries.
